Updates

It has been a crazy few months since we have updated last on Alice Marie.
Our friends and family have joined together to help raise funds and awareness for children like Alice and for the liver disease that she has,  Biliary Atresia.
So far everything has been looking up!  I praise God and am thankful we get a little respite for her.
We have been coming home after visits, 3 times already!  Yay!
She is gaining weight and is currently 17.9lbs.
I believe the average for a 9month old girl is 18.1 lbs.
Her liver levels are looking good.
She is looking less and less yellow.
Shel is awake and active for longer time periods.
We have started physical therapy at home,  she is a little behind on her basic skills because of all surgeries and recovery times . We have been working diligently and she is almost sitting on her own!  She can sit for a few moments and then s-l-o-w-l-y starts sliding sideways. ????
She is starting to purposefully roll over from her tummy to her back. She is attempting to roll from her back to her tummy,  she has her little tummy tube that acts as a “kickstand” though.
Alice is currently digging the classic  tunes of  “the itsy bits spider” and “if you’re happy and you know it”; as well as the “ABC ‘s”
She is also TEETHING!  she has,  at the moment,  1 and a 1/2 tooth.
With her teeth coming in,  her appetite has kicked it up a notch.  She recently tasted plain pizza crust and her whole life has changed.
She’s super active.  And has been meeting new people lately.  (this social butterfly).  ????
We have been trying to arrange a time to go up to Stanford, CA for a deceased donor listing,  they are thinking around May 20th. We won’t know for sure until next week, I think.

Alice is continuing to be a silly baby,  growing and learning.  Enjoying life to the fullest. She has the best little belly laugh when we play with her and tickle her.  She loves her sister and brothers.  I, (mom),  feels like she is very much a Daddy’s girl,  and Dad feels like she is partial to me.  Lol

We are beyond thankful for everyone who is surrounding her with loving thoughts and positive vibes and prayers.
Please,  don’t hesitate to fill out the 15 minute questionnaire on the Stanford website about becoming a living donor for her.  The Drs review each one and make the decisions.  You’d be surprised at the leniency for a potential donor.
